The 10th Annual ReelAbilities Film Festival will be held March 8-14, in New York City. This year, ADAPT Community Network is a sponsor of the festival and will jointly work with UCPLA, whose film Mind Over Matter will have its New York premier at the festival.
Mind Over Matter is a documentary that depicts the remarkable life story of musician and advocate, Brandon Mendenhall. Directed by Sebastien Paquet, videographer for the Grammy-winning rock band KORN, the film follows Mendenhall as he defies the odds given to him when he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy – by teaching himself to play guitar, forming his own band, and following his advocacy to a seat on the Board of Governors at UCPLA.
Mind Over Matter recently won Best Cinematography, Best Screenwriting, and the Audience Choice Award at the DOC LA Film Festival in Los Angeles, and we are pleased to support its New York debut: http://reelabilities.org/newyork/film/mind-over-matter/.
