About

Funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), supports older adults in aging safely at home through small-scale, non-structural maintenance modifications that reduce fall and injury risks.

Eligibility

  • Adults 62 years or older
  • Reside in the five boroughs of NYC
  • Income up to 80% of Area Median Income (AMI)
  • Homeowners or tenants with landlord approval
  • Up to $5,000 per household

Examples of Maintenance Modifications

  • Installation of grab bars or handrails
  • Repair or replacement of lighting fixtures for better visibility
  • Repair of minor plumbing or electrical issues that affect safety
  • Installation of smoke or carbon monoxide detectors
  • Door lever handle replacements
