Early Childhood Education

null

Coordinate with Committee on Preschool special education in all 5 boroughs to set up tours and invite families to walk through our programs and meet staff and therapists, helping ensure that each child has the most appropriate placement for them. Our preschool services include speech, physical and occupational therapy, counseling (play therapy), adaptive equipment, vision training, assistive technology, as well as specialized classroom models including augmentative communication and computer assisted instruction.

UNIVERSAL PRE-KINDERGARTEN (PRE-K)

Our Universal Pre-K program for 4 year olds offers families a free, high-quality, friendly learning environment for children which incorporates the NYCDOE interdisciplinary units of study. Children have a full day of instruction with gross motor activity, music and movement, art and walking trips in their school community.

Highlights

Many of our locations have their own special offerings like a large indoor adaptive swimming pool in Brooklyn, 12 acres of open play space in the Bronx, easy access to shopping and parks in Manhattan, and outdoor and indoor adaptive playgrounds on Staten Island.

Other programming that is offered includes: healthcare services, respite services, summer camp programs, Medicaid coordination, access to our TechWorks technology resource centers and SHARE lending libraries.

ADAPT Preschool and School-Age special education programs are made possible by the New York State Education Department and the New York City Department of Education.
