ADAPT Community Network sponsors a variety of living options for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities designed to meet the needs of each person. Some of these services are licensed and certified by the NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), eligibility for these options is determined through the Front Door Process of OPWDD.
ADAPT sponsors residences in both apartments and house settings that feature 24-hour staffing with highly trained and experienced direct care and professional staff. Individuals are provided daily living activities, nursing and health support, and community social activities, all while respecting the wishes and choices of each individual and their family.
ADAPT offers apartment living for individuals to live on their own or with a roommate of their choice. Staffing is available to help with independence training, money and benefit management, and are always on call. Individuals travel independently on public transportation to and from work or day activities.
At ADAPT, individuals are empowered to support themselves by paying their own rent and bills and traveling independently to their place of employment and in their daily life. Rent subsidies are made possible through ADAPT and OPWDD.
