ADULT LEARNING & COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

ADULT LEARNING & COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

Promoting participation and ensuring that everyone has a voice is at the heart of what we do. ADAPT sponsors a variety of programs and services for adults which combine opportunities for classroom learning, creative expression, community outings, volunteer opportunities, and partnerships with other community based organizations.

View our virtual tour for a better idea of what we have to offer. You can fill out an application and send it to Karen Liebman at kliebman@adaptcommunitynetwork.org. For more information, contact Project Connect.

These activities, commonly known as DAY HAB generally take place in group settings in which participants begin and end their day in a center in their home borough. Click here to see our locations. These programs generally operate five days a week and are individually tailored for individuals to learn new skills, pursue individual interests, and attain lifelong goals and dreams. Escorted by highly trained ADAPT staff, shopping, museum tours and other trips are planned with our staff, family members and each person.

Transportation to and from home can be provided. Customized options are available for those persons living at home who prefer to experience community based outings a few hours a week.

Eligibility for these services is determined by the NYS Office of People with Developmental Disabilities through the FRONT DOOR process.
