These activities, commonly known as DAY HABILITATION generally take place in group settings in which participants begin and end their day in a center in their home borough. These programs generally operate five days a week and are individually tailored for individuals to learn new skills, pursue individual interests, and attain lifelong goals and dreams. Escorted by highly trained ADAPT staff, shopping, museum tours and other trips are planned with our staff, family members and each person.

Programs are barrier free, and include access to nursing supports and clinical services. Transportation to and from home can be provided. Customized options are available for those persons living at home who prefer to experience community based outings a few hours a week. All of our programs are Site-Based, but we do offer a Day Hab Without Walls Program in the Bronx.

Eligibility for these services is determined by the NYS Office of People with Developmental Disabilities through the FRONT DOOR process.
