Action Camp includes a variety of recreational and socialization activities such as swimming in our heated indoor pools and use of our adaptive gym, and many more adventurous and exploratory outings. This takes place during the late summer gap between the end of most summer school programs until the start of the school year (mid-August). Action Camp is for eligible Brooklyn resident teenagers.
Club Disco is a popular activity held on Friday evenings each month, starting with dinner followed by three hours of non-stop music and dancing with a live DJ and door prizes. This fun activity is offered in Manhattan and Staten Island for eligible teens and young adults.
ADAPT recreation includes outings and leisure activities including trips to zoos and museums, dining out, cooking and baking, movies and theatre, and a wide range of social activities. SPIRIT takes place on Saturdays, within program settings in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island and the community for teenagers and young adults.
Our robust arts program at ADAPT includes poetry, painting, media arts, and other opportunities for self-expression. Children and adults can take elective classes and work on independent projects. Individual’s art is showcased in galleries and art shows, displayed on the walls of businesses and within our own programs. The arts program is embedded in our recreation, education and day habilitation programs.
