On Monday, February 3rd, 2025 at Giardino D’Oro, ADAPT Community Network hosted a Celebration of Life event to honor the late Edward R. Matthews, its CEO of 35 years. Over 100 guests attended the dinner and cocktail reception and spent the evening in celebration of Mr. Matthews and his legacy. Old friends, family members, and colleagues of Mr. Matthews lined up to speak about how their lives were impacted by him. It was a night filled with laughter, tears, and many heartwarming stories. In addition, Mr. Matthews was posthumously honored by New York State Assembly Member Rebecca A. Seawright for his lifetime of advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
