New Computer Lab Opens at Staten Island Day Hab

On March 30, 2026, the Staten Island Day Hab and Children’s Program celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of their new computer lab. The ribbon cutting marks an exciting step forward in expanding inclusive, technology driven learning opportunities across ADAPT programs.

As the newest addition to our network of computer labs, this shared lab space was designed with the use of technology in mind, and our people supported at its core. It is equipped with adaptive technology, specialized software, and educational tools for individuals to explore.

This lab will also help support the learning and independence of our students and adults, helping to create new ways for them to connect with the world around them. Most importantly, it will help individuals build essential skills, such as communication, self-expression, problem solving, job readiness, and digital literacy.

Marwa Khairy, Assistant Director of Program Services, emphasized the importance of having shared spaces. “This shared space brings our programs together. It creates a sense of community where learning happens across ages, abilities, and experiences, where everyone belongs.”
