Volunteer with ADAPT
Volunteering is a wonderful way to help others, build relationships, and give back to the community. Our volunteers bring an array of unique talents and beneficial skills to our programs, fundraisers, and administrative offices. Whether reading to preschoolers, playing music with adults or helping us with special events, volunteers at ADAPT are a vital component to our success. We welcome group or individual volunteers. Volunteer opportunities are available in several locations throughout all five boroughs. Volunteers must be 18 or older (or 16 with working papers) in order to take part in our Volunteer Program.
Work with our adult recreation program (Evenings & Weekends), adult day programs, adult residential group Homes (evenings & weekends) or as an administrative office assistant (Office Hours).
Looking to bring a large group together for a volunteer effort? We welcome businesses, organizations, high schools, and universities to sponsor & host activities or events for children or adults receiving services at ADAPT. We can help provide and organize a meaningful volunteer day for your company or group. Help plant a garden, paint a residence or work on a special project with individuals. There are many ways to make your work day productive outside of the office. Help to sponsor a luncheon or a party for our individuals, an outdoor field day, dance, carnival, sponsor a visit from a petting zoo, an entertainer or artist, and more.
