At ADAPT Community Network, our school age programs provide the support needed to help children with disabilities become learners in every type of environment. With the help of assistive technology, we equip both students and educators with the tools necessary to move, learn, and grow.
Rifton, has been a prominent partner and contributor to the success of our students, playing a transformative role in their lives and paving the way for independence and inclusion in the classroom.
Rifton offers a range of equipment, from adaptive chairs to adaptive desks. Each piece of equipment made by Rifton is thoughtfully designed and engineered to meet the unique needs of students.
Rivka Wiener, Director of the Brooklyn School Age Program, speaks to the importance of this partnership and the role of assistive technology in students’ development and wellbeing. In a classroom setting, Rifton’s technology provides students with the freedom and accessibility to do activities they otherwise would not be able to complete, changing the way they interact within the classroom and with their peers. For example, mobile standers allow a student to move independently around the room, giving them the opportunity to participate and incorporate themselves into different activities.
When Rifton provides equipment trials to ADAPT, families and staff are assured of their safety and effectiveness. For families, it’s more than just physical support, it’s hope. These tools show that with the right support, students can strive for their potential. “Every kid benefits from Rifton’s adaptive equipment”, Weiner shares.
Thank you, Rifton, for your donations and commitment to creating inclusive environments where children and adults with disabilities can connect, grow, and explore. While adaptive equipment is just one piece of the puzzle, it plays a key role in the path towards independence and inclusion for our people supported.
