ADAPT Community Network Is Still Accepting Applications for the 2021-22 School Year.

Our West End Avenue Manhattan Children’s Program is committed to providing a comprehensive education for all children. Our preschools are specifically designed to engage and educate children with special needs. Our universal pre-kindergarten and integrated programs offer families a high-quality family friendly learning environment for children of all developmental levels. Teachers and teacher assistants work with students to instill confidence and the love of learning while building the foundational skills for the next level of education.

  • Licensed not for profit 12-month special education preschool program for children 2.7 – 5 years old.
  • Range of classroom options:
    – Self-contained monolingual 12:1:2,12:1:3,8:1:2, and 6:1:2 classrooms.
    – Self-contained bilingual Spanish 12:1:2 classrooms.
    – Integrated UPK classes.
  • Utilizing the research based Creative Curriculum and NYC DOE Interdisciplinary Units of Study, instruction is designed to address all areas of development, to make learning fun and exciting, and to meet each student’s individual needs in order to promote independence and self-confidence and help children reach their potential.
  • Offers a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, with educational services supplemented with such appropriate therapeutic interventions as Speech/Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Counseling services, and Vision services.
  • Offers enrichment experiences such as music therapy for children and family supports such as Social Worker/Psychologist services and workshops for parents/caregivers.
  • All educational and therapeutic staff are appropriately certified and/or licensed in their respective disciplines.
  • Barrier free access, vibrant and spacious classrooms and playrooms, and availability of specialized equipment all contribute to an inclusive environment for children with and without physical challenges.
  • Located on Manhattan’s upper west side in a culturally diverse neighborhood surrounded by arts, music, a public library and parks.
  • NYSED and NYC DOE funded
