Last month, ADAPT Community Network’s 154th Street Day Program hosted the Junior Harlem Tennis Education Program, led by Coach Simone and Esu Ma’at, Tennis Service Representatives from the United States Tennis Association. The Tennis Education Program held a clinic for the individuals, where they engaged in learning the basics of adaptive tennis including how to hold a tennis racket, where to stand, and when to swing a racket. Before such a workout, of course, you need to stretch and warm up!
Individuals from ADAPT’s 137th Street and the Grand Concourse Programs were included and encouraged to participate in the clinic. Many individuals had never had the chance to play tennis before. Between playing and socializing with each other, the time flew by. 154th Street Day Program is planning to make the tennis clinic a regular event for ADAPT program participants. Thanks again to Coach Simone and Esu for a great time!
