On May 25th, the New York State Association of Day Service Providers (NYSADSP) held its annual Direct Support and Front Line Supervisor Star Awards at the Adria Hotel and Conference Center in Bayside, New York. At the event, two staff members per each participating day services provider agency, including ADAPT Community Network, were awarded to recognize and show appreciation for their hard work and dedication. ADAPT’s staff, Marwa Khairy, Program Coordinator at Port Richmond Day Program on Staten Island and Davin Griffiths, Habilitation Assistant at Stillwell Avenue Day Program, received a Star Award for being an outstanding employee. Both staff attended the event with their supervisors: KerryAnn Buchanan, Assistant Director at Port Richmond and Marlene McLeod, Habilitation Specialist.
This award is an opportunity for member agencies of NYSADSP to nominate someone who has provided strong and consistent leadership for direct support staff and exemplifies these qualities consistently. The goal of New York State Association of Day Service Providers is to help provider members develop quality community-based vocational, volunteer, educational and social activities that maximizes each participant’s personal growth and enriches their life experience.
We are very excited to acknowledge Marwa and Devon for their outstanding performance!
