It’s Back To School Time For Adapt Community Network Students!

The school year is off to a great start at our preschools in all five boroughs of the city! ADAPT Community Network has become the leading provider of preschools for children with disabilities in New York State with 14 schools serving more than 2,000 students throughout New York City at ADAPT Community Network and at our affiliated New York League for Early Learning preschools. We also offer a school-age program at our Brooklyn location.

For the past two years, ADAPT and NYL preschools have offered unique classes that provide a full spectrum of integrated vision and related services that assist students who are blind or visually impaired. This fall, the program will further expand at ADAPT’s 80 West End Preschool location in Manhattan where visually impaired students will learn alongside their sighted peers in an adaptive and enriching environment. This program also includes students with multiple disabilities or chronic medical conditions.

ADAPT’s goal is to help all students lead productive, dignified and fulfilling lives. An integrated setting such as this will serve all students well.  Students in these classes that address issues with vision will also receive vision therapy at our program along with other therapies that we offer, including speech, occupation, counseling and physical therapies. This program is building a solid foundation to help students ultimately reach their full potential.

Our preschool, school-age, and after-school programs are designed to engage and educate children with special needs. Our Universal Preschool (UPK) and integrated programs offer families a high-quality and family-oriented learning environment for children of all developmental levels.
